Every image tells a story. Devotion to search for that story, is a life-long challenge. The sublime beauty of this search is what motivated Daria D’Antonio to work and experiment with lights and cameras.

Born and raised in Naples, Daria started to work on set at a very young age. Almost immediately, Daria become a camera operator with DP Luca Bigazzi, collaborating with such directors as Silvio Soldini, Carlo Mazzacurati, Gianni Amelio and Francesca Comencini.

Daria got her first break as a director of photography on the ground-breaking documentary Il passaggio della Linea, (Crossing the Line) directed by Pietro Marcello. It received awards and nominations including winning the Bellaria Film Festival’s Casa Rossa prize- for the most creative Italian Documentary with theatrical distribution, and a nomination for Best Documentary from the David di Donatello Awards.

Daria then began shooting feature films, commercials and television, and collaborated with the most acclaimed directors in Italy including Paolo Sorrentino, Cristina Comencini, Niccolo’ Ammaniti and Pietro Marcello.

Daria is the first woman to have won the Globo D’Oro for Best Cinematography twice for La pelle dell’orso and Ricordi. She was also nominated for Padroni di Casa.

Great passion for her craft and a sincere collaborative attitude, have allowed Daria to grow an illustrious roster of filmmakers in Italy and all over the world.

Daria’s next film will be Mob Girl, directed by Paolo Sorrentino and starring Jennifer Lawrence.
